TORONTO — Industry leaders at an annual retail pharmacy conference in Canada got a look at a kiosk that allows patients to order prescription drugs through an Internet connection.

TCE Group announced the introduction of its Pharma Kiosk, or PK+ terminal at the annual meeting of the Canadian Association of Chain Drug Stores in Toronto.

LAS VEGAS — Rolling Strong, a provider of wellness programs for professional drivers, has partnered with Stayhealthy to bring professional drivers access to the Stayhealthy kiosk so they can self-monitor health levels.

ADA, OHIO — Kroger last month installed its first remote "kiosk store" on the campus of Ohio Northern University here, according to a report published Wednesday in the Toledo Blade.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS/pharmacy announced on Monday that social network connectivity is now available at all CVS/pharmacy photo centers with Kodak picture kiosks.

Effective immediately, customers can visit the CVS/pharmacy photo center to access and print their photos or access their friends' photos directly from Facebook at the Kodak picture kiosk. This new feature allows CVS/pharmacy customers to print images directly from Facebook without bringing a digital camera, USB drive or smartcard into the store.

The company, which built its market dominance on $1 rentals, is testing price increases in some markets. Redbox and Foursquare are partnering to allow consumers to use their smartphones to check availability and reserve titles at their nearest kiosk.


Competitor NDR is experimenting with DVD sales as well as rentals from its kiosks, and may expand the concept.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — Coinstar will help boost the retail presence of a self-service kiosks provider through a new deal.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board on Tuesday announced it temporarily will close Pronto wine kiosks statewide to address mechanical and technological issues.

The kiosks were located in 30 supermarkets across the state, including in Giant Food, Wegmans Food Market, Giant Eagle, The Fresh Grocer and Shop 'n Save stores.
