Walgreens reorganizes merchandising, marketing teams

Walgreens is reorganizing its merchandising and marketing leadership teams to better align and to enhance the integration of those groups.   As part of the changes, the role of chief marketing officer will be eliminated. As a result, Kim Feil will be leaving the company effective Sept. 30.

DEERFIELD, Ill — Drug Store News has learned that Walgreens is reorganizing its merchandising and marketing leadership teams to better align the “strategic objectives” and to enhance the integration of those teams, according to a statement from the company.   As part of the reorganization, the role of chief marketing officer will be eliminated, and as a result, Kim Feil will be leaving the company effective Sept. 30.

Walgreens' chief marketing officer Kim Feil was inducted into the In-Store Marketing Institute Hall of Fame Thursday morning in Chicago.

CHICAGO — Walgreens' chief marketing officer Kim Feil was inducted into the In-Store Marketing Institute Hall of Fame Thursday morning in Chicago.

Feil was a seasoned consumer packaged goods marketer when she joined Walgreens in fall 2008. As company CEO Greg Wasson recently noted, she propelled Walgreens from being a good advertiser to a world-class marketing organization.

Walk with Walgreens kicks off in New York's Times Square

Walgreens on Wednesday morning launched a national health initiative, Walk with Walgreens, at its flagship store in Times Square.

NEW YORK — Walgreens on Wednesday morning launched a national health initiative, Walk with Walgreens, here at its flagship store in Times Square.

The new initiative was created to lead to the prevention and early detection of leading diseases, including cancer, heart disease and diabetes, the pharmacy operator stated.
