RALEIGH, N.C. — Kerr Drug will use its partnership with PDX and ScriptPro to increase pharmacy productivity by expanding its central fill model, the regional pharmacy chain said Thursday.

Kerr announced the opening of its central fill operation in Raleigh, N.C.

"It's not just about labor savings, inventory reductions and other efficiencies," Kerr CEO Tony Civello said. "These kinds of innovations and use of technologies are critical to remaining a player in the emerging healthcare ecosystem."

Kerr Health shifts to single platform for data analytics

Kerr Health has integrated its specialty pharmacy and long-term care data into BioMed Intelligence's data warehouse solution, BMI said.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A Kerr Drug subsidiary has integrated its specialty pharmacy and long-term care data into BioMed Intelligence's data warehouse solution, BMI said.

The moves streamlines Kerr Health's information into a single platform for data analytics across multiple locations and lines of business.

"BMI has been a valuable partner to Kerr Health," Kerr Health president Mike Brown said. "Their innovative reporting suite and advanced industry knowledge positions them well to partner with us on our data integration initiatives."

RALEIGH, N.C. — Kerr Drug is launching a new campaign to get people to talk to their pharmacists, the chain announced.

Kerr said it would launch the "Just Ask" marketing campaign in stores and across various marketing channels to encourage its pharmacists and patients to talk to each other about prescriptions, conditions, health practices and overall health.

Kerr expands health focus beyond stores

Kerr Drug describes its free prescription delivery service — launched in fall 2010 and renewed to positive customer response for 2011 — as “old school innovation.” If “old school” means anticipating consumers’ health and everyday-product needs, and meeting them with a down-home approach to store service and a broader-than-usual menu of pharmacy care options, then the tag could apply to Kerr’s entire business strategy.

SALT LAKE CITY — Kerr Drug has begun offering a new emergency response and health service system to seniors via a one-touch cell phone link.

The product, from ActiveCare, now is available in most or all of the Raleigh, N.C.-based drug chain’s stores, according to both companies. Kerr VP marketing Diane Eliezer said the chain maintains roughly 90 stores and retail health centers, all in North Carolina.
