RALEIGH, N.C. — Kerr Drug is offering savings of up to 70% to customers who buy prescription eyewear through a new website, the chain said Wednesday.

Kerr Drug Optical, at Kerrdrugoptical.com, features more than 8,000 designer frames and options, such as scratch-resistant, Transitions and anti-reflective lenses, as well as ultraviolet treatments and prescription sunglasses. In addition, as part of the grand-opening offer, the company will give away the top 100 frame styles for free with a $49 purchase of lenses.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Kerr Drug is kicking off its flu shot campaign this month, the regional chain said Friday.

Kerr pharmacists will administer vaccines for the 2011-2012 flu season at most of its stores in North Carolina. It also plans to offer vaccines at its booth during the 2011 North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh, N.C., from Oct. 13 to 23.

Kerr Drug is marking the back-to-school season with a school supply donation campaign through the Kerr Cares for Kids Foundation, the regional retail pharmacy chain said Friday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Kerr Drug is marking the back-to-school season with a school supply donation campaign through the Kerr Cares for Kids Foundation, the regional retail pharmacy chain said Friday.

On Thursday, each Kerr store set up a bin to collect donations of new school supplies, ranging from paper and pens to notebooks and backpacks. Supplies will be collected until Sept. 15 and will be donated to local charities.

The pharmacy chain said that Sharps Compliance's TakeAway Environmental Return System envelopes will be available in all stores May 23. The envelopes sell for $3.99.

By logging on to KerrDrugDelivers.com, customers can find the nearest Kerr Drug pharmacy to request free delivery. The service allows customers to find the nearest Kerr Drug pharmacy and phone number to call and order their prescriptions, along with anything else in the store they may need.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Two pharmacy trade groups already have given their blessings to legislation that would support medication therapy management, and a retail pharmacy chain that has made MTM part of its mission is following suit.

Kerr Drug announced its support for the Medication Therapy Management Empowerment Act of 2011, which Sen. Kay Hagan, D-N.C., recently introduced. The National Association of Chain Drug Stores and the National Community Pharmacists Association endorsed the bill last week.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Just a few months after launching its free delivery program, Kerr Drug on Monday said it will continue the service into the New Year.

The delivery program allows Kerr Drug customers to call their prescriptions in to the store pharmacist and request the prescription be delivered to their home or office and may add any other item from the store to their delivery list, which also can be delivered free of charge.

SALT LAKE CITY — Kerr Drug has begun offering a new emergency response and health service system to seniors via a one-touch cell phone link.

The product, from ActiveCare, now is available in most or all of the Raleigh, N.C.-based drug chain’s stores, according to both companies. Kerr VP marketing Diane Eliezer said the chain maintains roughly 90 stores and retail health centers, all in North Carolina.

Those benefits stem from direct interventions in patient therapy by pharmacists, coupled with a coordinated approach to the patient’s treatment regimen by his or her pharmacist and doctor, according to Kerr.
