LA JOLLA, Calif. — Kashi has launched a new initiative that will boost the company's availability of organic and non-GMO foods affirmed by the Non-GMO Project, a leading independent verifier of non-GMO foods.

By the end of 2014, all existing Kashi GoLean cereals and Kashi Chewy granola bars — representing Kashi's biggest offerings — will be verified by the Non-GMO Project, the company said. Beginning in 2015, all new Kashi foods introduced into the market will contain at least 70% organic ingredients and also will be Non-GMO Project verified.

Bear Naked Nut Cluster Crunch is a blend of hearty flakes and energy-dense, crunchy clusters made with toasted nuts, whole-grain oats and puffed wheat. The company said that the cereal, which is available in honey almond and maple nut varieties, was designed to give busy, active people the natural energy they need to make the most of their morning.

The new peanutty dark chocolate flavor, which joins dark chocolate coconut and pumpkin pecan TLC layered granola bars, features Kashi's signature seven whole grains blend, as well as 4.5 g of fiber and 4 g of protein in each bar.

Kashi's TLC peanutty dark chocolate layered granola bars now are available at grocers and natural food retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.89.

LA JOLLA, Calif. — Kashi has added waffles to its family of frozen foods.

Kashi said its seven-grain waffles and blueberry waffles are free from artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors and preservatives, and contain 7 g and 6 g of fiber, respectively.

Kashi seven-grain waffles and blueberry waffles now are available in grocers' freezers nationwide.

LA JOLLA, Calif. — Kashi announced the launch of its Berry Blossoms cereal and cherry-vanilla cereal bars.

The company said its Berry Blossoms cereal features pillow-shaped graham cereal squares made with seven whole grains and tossed with a tasty blend of real fruit, including strawberries, blackberries and blueberries.

Kashi's cherry-vanilla cereal bars join its TLC line of products and are made with a filling of sweet red-ruby cherries and rich Madagascan vanilla beans that are baked right into the soft-baked dough and contain 11 g of whole grains.
