NORTHFIELD, Ill. — A few years after launching its iFood assistant, a tool for on-the-go users that provides recipes and entertainment tips, Kraft is taking meal planning to the next level.

Teaming up with technology innovator Intel, new Kraft Meal Planning Solutions transforms traditional self-service kiosks into a platform where consumers can obtain recipes, shopping suggestions, promotional coupons and even product samples. The kiosks reportedly also will use facial recognition to determine a consumer's gender and will suggest dinner meal options.

BEAVER, Pa. — Supermarket wine kiosks are being reintroduced into the Pennsylvania market in the coming week after being taken offline in the days before Christmas, according to a report published Monday in the Beaver County Times, a newspaper based in Beaver County and northwest of Pittsburgh.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board on Tuesday announced it temporarily will close Pronto wine kiosks statewide to address mechanical and technological issues.

The kiosks were located in 30 supermarkets across the state, including in Giant Food, Wegmans Food Market, Giant Eagle, The Fresh Grocer and Shop 'n Save stores.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A provider of self-service kiosk solutions has inked a definitive agreement to acquire an operator of unattended DVD rental kiosks.

ORLANDO, Fla. PatientPoint, whose core offering is a self-service kiosk that automates check-in and check-out processes in retail clinic environments and physician offices, has named Raj Toleti CEO.

Previously, Toleti founded Galvanon, a technology company focused on improving the patient experience, which was acquired by NCR in 2005. While at Galvanon, he oversaw the introduction of the first commercially available patient self-service kiosk and software platform to automate patient check-in and intake processes at hospitals and physician offices.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Mass merchandiser Costco is adding information kiosks to its 25 pharmacies in Canada’s Ontario province.

Aisle7, the U.S.-based company that makes the kiosks, said the kiosks would make customer self-care education on generic and branded drugs, as well as drug information, available through an interactive kiosk-based display.
