CVS Caremark elected on March 29 former Johnson & Johnson CEO William Weldon to serve on its board of directors, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark elected on March 29 former Johnson & Johnson CEO William Weldon to serve on its board of directors, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Weldon is the former chairman of the board and CEO of Johnson & Johnson, having served in those positions from 2002 until his retirement as CEO in April 2012 and his retirement from the board in December 2012. Weldon previously served in a variety of senior executive positions during his 41-year career with J&J.

CVS Caremark has announced the final results of its previously announced cash tender offers commenced on Nov. 26, 2012 of its 6.6% senior notes due 2019 and up to a maximum amount of its 6.125% senior notes due 2016 and 5.75% senior notes due 2017.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark has announced the final results of its previously announced cash tender offers commenced on Nov. 26, 2012 of its 6.6% senior notes due 2019 and up to a maximum amount of its 6.125% senior notes due 2016 and 5.75% senior notes due 2017.

The offers expired on Dec. 21, 2012. An aggregate principal amount of about $1.74 billion of notes was tendered.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark announced on Monday that it has commenced tender offers to refinance a portion of its debt.

The company has commenced cash tender offers for any and all of the 6.6% senior notes due 2019 and up to a maximum amount of the 6.125% senior notes due 2016 and 5.75% senior notes due 2017 such that the aggregate principal amount of the maximum tender offer notes tendered and accepted for purchase is equal to $1 billion less the aggregate principal amount of the any and all notes tendered and accepted for purchase.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark announced on Thursday the appointment of Alan Lotvin to the position of EVP specialty pharmacy.

Lotvin has extensive experience in the pharmacy benefit management and specialty pharmacy industries. Prior to joining CVS Caremark, Lotvin was president and CEO of Icore Healthcare, a Magellan Health Services company. Previously, he has held roles as president and COO of M|C Communications, a medical education provider, and served in various senior management positions at Medco Health Solutions, including president of specialty pharmacy services.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark has appointed Thomas Moriarty as EVP and general counsel of CVS Caremark.

Moriarty most recently served as general counsel at the Celgene, a biopharmaceutical company, where he was responsible for global legal strategy and served on the company's management committee. Prior to that, Moriarty was general counsel and corporate secretary at Medco Health Solutions.
