NACDS Foundation sponsors nationwide heart-health initiatives

The philanthropic arm of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores is supporting various heart-health programs around the country to support a Department of Health and Human Services campaign.

ARLINGTON, Va. — The philanthropic arm of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores is supporting various heart-health programs around the country to support a Department of Health and Human Services campaign.

The NACDS Foundation announced the launch of the NACDS Foundation and Million Hearts "Heart to Heart Community Health Fairs," supporting HHS' "Team Up, Pressure Down" campaign. Various initiatives will take place in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Aboard the Health Mart Healthy Living Tour’s 40-ft. mobile screening unit, tour staff offered screenings that include blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose and hemoglobin A1C tests.

MIAMI — Navarro Discount Pharmacies and a number of healthcare partners on Jan. 26 hosted a free health fair to kick off Heart Health Awareness Month in February, the pharmacy operator announced Wednesday.

For the approximate 200 people who attended, the event featured lifestyle presentations, information on medical issues, free product samplings from vendors and complimentary heart health screenings, including vascular screenings, body mass index, glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure and UHealth’s Heart Aware Risk Assessments.
