The candy maker announced the release of its latest line, which includes Snickers peanut butter pumpkin-based singles, as well as jack-o-lantern-shaped Snickers-brand pumpkin, available in two packs. The company is also releasing a new large variety bag of Snickers Fun Size canned, available in Snickers Original, Almond and Peanut Butter Squared bars.

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Mars is extending its popular Dove brand with its new chocolate-covered raisins and peanuts mix. Dove’s new spin on the classic combination of taste and textures will hit retail shelves in April and is packaged in a standup pouch designed to enhance shelf presence.


The “hand-to-mouth” candy segment increasingly is popular with consumers. With $1.6 billion in sales annually, according to Mars, unwrapped bite-sized candy is emerging as a growth segment for manufacturers and retailers.

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Mars Chocolate is putting its candy bars on a diet, according to published reports.

The company is said to limit the calories on its well-known candy brands, including Snickers and Twix. According to a Reuters report, candy bars will tout no more than 250 calories by 2013. What's more, the report said, such items as the 540-calorie king-size Snickers bar will be pulled from the market by 2014.

Mars said it is expanding its M&M's and Dove brands with seasonal candies that capture the holiday spirit, including new gifting displays for retailers.

New products include such items as M&M's stocking tin ornaments, which are filled with M&M’s milk chocolate candies, and Dove silky and smooth truffles, available in milk and dark chocolate.

Snickers Peanut Butter Squared adds peanut butter to the classic Snickers combination of peanuts, caramel, nougat and milk chocolate. The candy is the top-testing new bar launch for Mars in the last three years.


Each 1.78-oz. single pack includes two square-shaped bars and carries a suggested retail price of 89 cents. The bars also are available in fun-size bags in two sizes: 11.5 oz. and 21.5 oz.
