Unilever-owned tea company Lipton is looking to breathe new life into a brand more than 130 years old.

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Unilever-owned tea company Lipton is looking to breathe new life into a brand more than 130 years old.

Lipton announced Thursday its "Uplift Your Day" campaign surrounding its flagship black tea brand, introduced by Sir Thomas Lipton in 1879. The campaign will include television, digital, in-store, social networking and public relations, as well as a worldwide contest on Instagram.

Whole Foods announced the appointment of Jason Buechel, who will report directly to co-CEO Walter Robb and CFO Glenda Flanagan, overseeing the technology team in the company's Austin, Texas, headquarters and 12 regional offices in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Bellevue, Wash.-based market research firm The Hartman Group surveyed members of HartmanSalt.com, a food information website and used data from its Eating Occasions Database to find that Americans, on average, eat 2.3 snacks per day, most frequently in the afternoon, evening and late at night.

Food Banks Canada's HungerCount 2012 shows 882,000 individuals turned to a food bank each month for help this year, and more than 339,000 of those assisted are children.
