Royal Ahold has appointed Ben Wishart as group chief information officer, the Dutch supermarket operator said.

AMSTERDAM — Royal Ahold has appointed Ben Wishart as group chief information officer, the Dutch supermarket operator said Tuesday.

In the newly created position, Wishart will report to CFO Jeff Carr and will work out of the company's Amsterdam headquarters. He previously worked at U.K. food retailer Morrisons as chief information officer. Ahold operates the Stop & Shop, Giant-Landover and Giant-Carlisle supermarket chains in the United States, as well as the Peapod online grocery service.

Kroger announced two finance executive promotions that will be effective with their elections by Kroger's board of directors expected on June 27.

CINCINNATI — Kroger on Tuesday announced two finance executive promotions that will be effective with their elections by Kroger's board of directors expected on June 27. Scott Henderson has been named VP pension investment and strategy and Todd Foley has been named VP and treasurer. 

Henderson, 57, currently serves as Kroger's VP and treasurer, a position he has held since 2003. He will lead a new team that is responsible for overseeing nearly $12 billion of assets.

CHICAGO — The typical American eats more than 1,000 snack-oriented convenience foods throughout the year, and kids and teens are the heaviest users of this assortment of snacks, which includes fresh fruit, sweets and savory snacks, according to a recent study by The NPD Group, a global information company.

The study also found women eat on average 3.1 snack-oriented convenience foods a day compared to the 2.7 snacks men eat a day.

NORTH WALES, Pa. — Teva Health Systems has launched a generic injectable drug for small-cell lung cancer, the company said Tuesday.

Teva, a subsidiary of Teva Pharmaceuticals, itself a subsidiary of Israel-based Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, announced the launch of topotecan injection in the 1 mg-per-1 mL strength, in 4 mL, single-dose vials.

The drug is a generic version of GlaxoSmithKline's Hycamtin.

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. — AmerisourceBergen on Monday announced that it has completed the previously announced divestiture of its contract packaging business, AndersonBrecon, to an entity formed by affiliates of an investor group led by Frazier Healthcare VI.  

The purchase price for the transaction totaled $308 million in cash, subject to customary adjustments for, among other things, the working capital of the business. The investor group includes affiliates of Greenspring Associates, QIC Global Private Equity and Thomas McNerney & Partners.

Money, who has worked for the GPhA for six years, was previously the organization's senior director for federal affairs. In the new position, he will continue lobbying on behalf of the generic drug industry in Congress.
