BOSTON — Procter & Gamble’s Gillette male grooming brand has teamed up with three entertainment icons to unveil a styling tool for men with facial hair: Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler.

Musician and fashion designer André "André 3000" Benjamin, actor Gael García Bernal and Academy Award-winning actor Adrien Brody will serve as brand ambassadors. All three men will appear in an integrated marketing campaign, including television and print advertising, digital media and public relations, beginning in February.

The company said its popular cereal characters — including Rice Krispies characters Snap!, Crackle! and Pop!, Mini from Frosted Mini Wheats and Frosted Flakes' Tony the Tiger — will appear in their first-ever "milk mustache" ad to emphasize the consumption of cereal and milk as a healthy way to start the day.

Hinds, a registered nurse, will focus on hepatitis C and intravenous immunoglobulin sales. IVIG is a blood product used to treat certain immune deficiencies, autoimmune diseases and acute infections.

Provectus is planning to start a phase-3 trial of the investigational drug PV-10 for melanoma that has spread to other parts of the body, and said the FDA told the company that a meeting with the agency in addition to the one they had in October would not be required.

NEW YORK — A charity for 9/11 victims and their families and victims of terrorism worldwide got a big check from retail pharmacy chain Rite Aid at an event in New York's Grand Central Terminal Wednesday morning.

Rite Aid presented a $15,000 check to Tuesday's Children at its store in the train station, with Rite Aid regional VP Paul Perinetti and Tuesday's Children executive director Terry Sears in attendance. The money came from a two-day event in October in which the retailer delivered flu shots to commuters at the station.

The line, which includes about 200 items, touts prices that are an average of 20% to 25% less than national brands. What's more, 60% of the items cost $2 or less. What's more, packaging for items that are part of Guaranteed Value have undergone a makeover, with the yellow, blue and red packaging being replaced with a bright orange and white design that highlights the value offered with each product.

NEW YORK — A late-stage clinical trial to evaluate a drug in Alzheimer's disease patients came up short, the drug's developers said Tuesday, prompting them to cease its development.

Pfizer and Medivation announced results of the phase-3 "CONCERT" trial of Dimebon (latrepirdine), a trial that had lasted 12 months and enrolled 1,003 patients worldwide. The drug, which the companies have studied since 2009, was originally developed by Soviet Union scientists in the 1980s as an antihistamine.
