ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — An ice cream brand making its U.S. debut is at the forefront of a three-part film series starring actress Rachel Bilson.

Magnum, a 20-year-old Unilever brand, said the films were directed by fashion guru Karl Lagerfeld and are a platform to introduce the premium ice cream products to U.S. consumers. The films, which will debut at the Tribeca Flm Festival, also can be viewed on the brand's Facebook page next month.

NEW YORK — Food prices reached peak levels last month, according to the Labor Department's Producer Price Index.

The index noted that the month of February experienced a surge of 3.9% in food prices, the largest increase since a 4.2% climb reported in November 1974. PPI also noted that about 70% of the February rise can be attributed to higher prices for fresh and dry vegetables, which jumped 48.7%.

The Pittsburgh Business Times ranks the largest Pittsburgh-area private companies by 2010 revenue. Coming in at No. 6 on the list was Gateway Health Plan, with $1.4 billion in revenue. GNC ranked No. 4 with $1.8 billion in 2010 revenue.

Reuters reported Friday that a committee of advisers to the Food and Drug Administration said in a report that banning mentholated cigarettes would benefit public health. Under legislation adopted in 2009, most flavored cigarettes already are banned.

MINNEAPOLIS — Target has made a donation to Save the Children to assist with Japan’s earthquake and tsunami relief efforts.

The retailer said it has donated $500,000 to the cause.

Target said it encourages shoppers and team members to visit the Save the Children website to learn more about how they can help victims of the earthquake and tsunami.

KENNEBUNK, Maine — Tom's of Maine, a maker of natural oral and personal care products, has announced the five winning mobile dental clinics of its 2011 Dental Health for All program.

The nonprofit clinics, determined by public vote, will split $100,000 to grow and support mobile programs that offer easy-to-access dental care in local communities. This year's program solely focused on expanding dental clinics in the field so they can bring "goodness on the go" to those unable to afford an exam or coverage.

CHICAGO — The American Association of Diabetes Educators supported new legislation that was passed in the state of Kentucky that required licensure for all diabetes educators.

The licensing requirement, AADE said, will demonstrate and communicate a standard of care and ensure that people have an appropriate comfort level and respect for the discipline.

The bill was signed by Kentucky state governor Steve Beshear on Wednesday.

NEW YORK — Rising gas prices will prompt consumers to be more mindful of their spending habits, according to Nielsen projections.

In the United States, Nielsen noted, households could be paying an extra $52.50 with a 50-cent increase in gas prices, $105 with a $1 increase and $210 if prices jump up $2, prompting consumers to tighten their wallets. This will mirror historic trends, which include increased trip compression, more value-conscious shopping alternatives and increased use of coupons, Nielsen said.

NEW YORK — Drug makers Gilead Sciences and Roche are suing Indian drug maker Natco Pharma concerning a generic version of an influenza treatment, according to published reports.

Bloomberg reported that Gilead and Roche were accusing Natco of patent infringement due to its efforts to gain approval from the Food and Drug Administration for a generic version of Tamiflu (oseltamivir phosphate). Natco became the first company to file for approval of a generic version in February.

The lighters are emblazoned with Chivas and Club America teams' logos and colors. The eight lighters are targeted to Mexican-American males ages 25 years and older, Bic said.

Lighters in the Bic Pro Series Mexican soccer series have a suggested retail price of $1.69 per lighter.
