LOS ANGELES — The 14th annual EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women in New York is just around the corner, and once again Nate Berkus, host of "The Nate Berkus Show"; Jimmy Fallon, host of "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon"; and Dr. Oz, host of "The Dr. Oz Show," will host the April 30 event, according to beauty company Revlon, the Entertainment Industry Foundation and Lilly Tartikoff, co-founder of the event and co-founder of the Revlon/UCLA Women's Cancer Research program.

OAK BROOK, Ill. — Almost all women take on at least one preventive health-and-wellness measure in the morning to start their day, but only half apply lip balm to protect their lips from dryness and sun damage.

In Blistex's grooming routine survey, the lip care brand found that even though 91% of women perform at least one measure that boosts their health and wellness (e.g., taking a vitamin, exercising and applying an anti-aging facial product), their lips often are abandoned, which could put them at risk for infection, Blistex said.

PITTSBURGH — Though more than 7-in-10 drugs dispensed in the United States today are generics, and the Food and Drug Administration holds generics to the same standards as branded drugs, misgivings among the general public still exist, fed by the occasional media report of patients experiencing bad side effects after taking certain generic drugs.

SEATTLE — A lot of convenience stores sell beer, but one in Seattle has found an interesting way to draw customers with quaffable brews, according to a published report.

In a first-person article, Seattle Times reporter Tan Vinh wrote Tuesday that Super Deli Mart is hosting craft beer tastings, featuring pints for $3 and growler refills for $10, which customers can fill at in-store taps. The store also features “brewery of the week” events in which brewers sign bottles for customers.

In the ChainLinks/Terranomics' 2011 U.S. national retail report, the healthiest retail market in the nation was Washington, D.C., followed by San Francisco; New York; Boston; San Diego; San Jose/South Bay, Calif.; Baltimore; Philadelphia; Seattle and Pittsburgh.

CLEVELAND — A greeting card company and a singer-songwriter are celebrating the first anniversary of their partnership with a new line that commemorates spring birthdays, friendship and love.

American Greetings said it is extending its partnership with Taylor Swift with the new Taylor Swift spring collection, which includes 28 designs and features a "handmade" format. In addition to these personal touches, there also are six new music cards featuring several of Taylor's hit songs, including "Love Story," and "You Belong With Me."

FRAZER, Pa. — Cephalon plans to acquire a privately owned company developing treatments for cancer, Cephalon said Monday.

The Frazer, Pa.-based drug maker said it would pay $225 million upfront for Malvern, Pa.-based Gemin X, and Gemin X stockholders would be eligible to receive up to $300 million in milestone payments related to products under development.

Gemin X specializes in cancer treatments that target and kill cancer cells. Its lead product is GX15-070 (obatoclax), currently in phase-2b clinical development as a treatment for small cell lung cancer.

MELVILLE, N.Y. — Hain Celestial is boosting its market presence with the introduction of more than 50 new and improved products.

The company has expanded its baking brand, Arrowhead Mills, to include an organic sprouted wheat flour and gluten-free baking mixes to address those who suffer from celiac disease. The products also feature update packaging.

NEW YORK — Private equity firm Leonard Green & Partners is considering an offer to acquire BJ’s Wholesale Club, according to a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Leonard Green, which already has a 9.3% ownership stake in the wholesale club operator, said in the SEC filing that it is examining confidential information provided by BJ's as it evaluates an offer.

BJ's revealed in February that it was considering putting the company on the sales block.
