NEW YORK — A baby brand has introduced a new line of 100% BPA-free, eco-friendly baby bottles.

BornFree's eco-friendly bottles include Eco Classic and Eco Deco varieties, which are available in 5-oz. and 9-oz. sizes. What's more, the company said that its baby bottles can be returned to BornFree for recycling, where they will be recycled into other products, such as toys and furniture.

HYDERABAD, India — The Food and Drug Administration has approved Dr. Reddy's version of an allergy medication that recently received Rx-to-OTC switch approval, the generic drug maker said.

Dr. Reddy's fexofenadine HCl tablets are bioequivalent versions of Sanofi-Aventis’ Allegra, which received Rx-to-OTC switch approval from the FDA in January.

The fexofenadine HCl Rx market had branded and generic sales of approximately $452 million for the 12 months ended last December, according to IMS Health.

WASHINGTON — The congressional Dietary Supplement Caucus held its first briefing for the 112th Congress April 6 to a capacity crowd of 60 House and Senate staffers, the caucus announced Thursday.

The DSC recently was relaunched for the 112th Congress. TARRYTOWN, N.Y. — Kraft Foods' Gevalia premium coffee will arrive in U.S. supermarkets, mass merchandisers and other retail outlets this summer.

MINNEAPOLIS — Supervalu on Thursday reported better-than-expected results with an earnings per share of 44 cents, which was 10 cents above analyst consensus of 34 cents.

“A lower-than-expected tax rate and LIFO charge helped by about 4 cents; the company still cleanly beat consensus,” noted Credit Suisse director equity research Ed Kelly. “It’s obvious that the company pulled back on the unsuccessful promotions initiated last quarter.”

CHICAGO — Walgreens' chief marketing officer Kim Feil was inducted into the In-Store Marketing Institute Hall of Fame Thursday morning in Chicago.

Feil was a seasoned consumer packaged goods marketer when she joined Walgreens in fall 2008. As company CEO Greg Wasson recently noted, she propelled Walgreens from being a good advertiser to a world-class marketing organization.

INDIANPOLIS — Australian Gold sun care brand took its national launch into the spotlight on April 10 as the task sponsor for the sixth episode of NBC's "The Celebrity Apprentice."

Australian Gold recently brought its outdoor sun care range to the national market, and to mark this expansion, the brand enlisted the help of Donald Trump and his show, "The Celebrity Apprentice." In the episode, the celebrities were in charge of creating a marketing event for Australian Gold using a 10-in.-by-10-in. glass box.

FRAZER, Pa. — Cephalon has lodged a bidder’s statement to acquire Australian drug maker ChemGenex Pharmaceuticals for $167 million, Cephalon said Wednesday.

Cephalon, which said its offer of 70 Australian cents per share represented a premium of nearly 60% over ChemGenex’s stock price as of March 29, said the Australian company’s directors had unanimously recommended approval of the acquisition. ChemGenex specializes in developing treatments for cancer.
