CHICAGO — Extra has boosted its lineup of Dessert Delights chewing gum with a new addition that was selected by Facebook fans.

Extra said its root beer float gum garnered 1.3 million votes from Facebook fans during the brand's Fan Flavorite Vote contest, beating out lemon square and bananas foster flavors. The root beer float gum will make its debut in summer 2012 and will join the current lineup of Extra Dessert Delights that includes orange creme pop, apple pie, mint chocolate chip, strawberry shortcake and key lime pie flavors.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS/pharmacy announced on Monday that social network connectivity is now available at all CVS/pharmacy photo centers with Kodak picture kiosks.

Effective immediately, customers can visit the CVS/pharmacy photo center to access and print their photos or access their friends' photos directly from Facebook at the Kodak picture kiosk. This new feature allows CVS/pharmacy customers to print images directly from Facebook without bringing a digital camera, USB drive or smartcard into the store.

The enhanced Facebook application is the flagship feature of the new Kodak Picture Kiosk software version 5.0 currently being rolled out to retailers worldwide, the company said.

IRVING, Texas — Kimberly-Clark is making toilet paper covers fashionable with new Cottonelle toilet paper roll covers. The toilet paper roll covers, which are available online at RespectTheRoll.com and through Cottonelle’s Facebook page, have been produced in three colorful designs and have been a hit with consumers.


At the height of website traffic, more than 72 requests per minute have been recorded for the covers. Through the Facebook page, Kimberly-Clark is giving away 25,000 additional roll covers. Roll covers will be on sale online for $4 each starting Nov. 1.

The mass merchandise retailer announced Thursday the launch of the Latina Smart Fund, promoted through its Latina Smart Facebook page, which will award $25,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors and students currently enrolled in college, technical or trade schools.
