BOSTON — Snuggle announced this week a new line of longer-lasting fabric softeners available in five fragrance combinations.

Snuggle Exhilarations is a new and improved line of the Snuggle brand of fabric softeners designed to keep clothes smelling fresh with scents that last from wash to wash, the company stated.

Design Weave USA on Wednesday introduced a patented anti-bedbug and anti-dust mite dryer sheet under the Rest Easy brand.

JAMESBURG, N.J. — Design Weave USA on Wednesday introduced a patented anti-bedbug and anti-dust mite dryer sheet under the Rest Easy brand.

According to the company, the dryer sheets naturally kill and repel bedbugs and dust mites. The dryer sheets are EPA exempt, according to the company.

“The dryer sheets work in your dryer to add the protection from a micro-encapsulated process to your bedding, effective for a full week of protection,” Design Weave USA VP product development and marketing Dan Harris said.

Laundry detergent brand Dropps is expanding to include fabric softener.

ARDMORE, Pa. — Laundry detergent brand Dropps is expanding to include fabric softener.

The company, known for its convenient toss-and-go system, has brought the same concept to its new fabric softener pacs, which are convenient in-wash softeners and scent boosters that soften, scent and protect clothes.

Dropps fabric softener pacs can be used in all washers and are available in lavender, orange blossom and wild orchid scents. Dropps said the product will be launched next month.

CINCINNATI — Fabric softener brand Bounce has teamed up with a hit Off-Broadway show to underscore the role of black clothing in a woman's wardrobe.

Through its partnership with "Love, Loss, and What I Wore," Bounce will engage women across the country in a conversation about what black clothing means to them and how it helps them to look and feel their best. The partnership is based on the idea that “nothing will ever be the new black,” a line said in the play.

Downy is seeking to break a Guinness World Record for the most hugs given in eight hours by a team.

TORONTO — Downy is seeking to break a Guinness World Record for the most hugs given in eight hours by a team.

The fabric softener brand has enlisted Torontonians to come out for a chance to be part of the event, which will be held Sept. 3 at the Canadian National Exhibition. Downy ambassadors also will be on hand.

If successful, Downy said it will donate $5,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Consumer demand has prompted Henkel to double production for one of its Purex products.

The company, which introduced the Purex Complete Crystals softener earlier this year, said that its plants have operated at full capacity since the launch of the in-wash fabric softener to keep up with the unprecedented demand.

To mitigate the number of product shortages until August, Henkel announced that it would suspend production of Purex Complete Crystals softener's Tropical Splash variety, which is 1-of-3 scents the brand produces.

CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble is boosting its Gain brand with a formula upgrade that locks in the long-lasting scent of Gain.

Gain with FreshLock contains microscopic scent beads that rest throughout fabrics after they have been washed and dried, the company said. FreshLock is a scent technology upgrade made to all Gain laundry detergent and fabric softener products, which provides longer-lasting freshness for laundry, P&G said.
