VALLEY FORGE, Pa. — AmerisourceBergen on Monday announced that it has completed the previously announced divestiture of its contract packaging business, AndersonBrecon, to an entity formed by affiliates of an investor group led by Frazier Healthcare VI.  

The purchase price for the transaction totaled $308 million in cash, subject to customary adjustments for, among other things, the working capital of the business. The investor group includes affiliates of Greenspring Associates, QIC Global Private Equity and Thomas McNerney & Partners.

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. — AmerisourceBergen on Thursday announced that it has divested its Canadian pharmaceutical distribution business, AmerisourceBergen Canada Corporation, to Kohl & Frisch Limited, a Canadian-owned national full-line distributor. ABCC represented approximately 2% of AmerisourceBergen’s total revenues.

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. — AmerisourceBergen on Thursday reported that in its fiscal-year third quarter ended June 30, diluted earnings per share were 71 cents, an 8% increase over the prior-year quarter.

AmerisourceBergen's Specialty Group had another strong quarter with revenues up 8%, driven by another particularly strong performance in third-party logistics and in the company's vaccine and physician distribution business. Specialty Group represents significant opportunity for the wholesaler, Steven Collis, AmerisourceBergen president and CEO, told analysts.

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. — AmerisourceBergen has promoted one of its executives to serve as its finance chief, the company said Friday.

Tim Guttman — who has served as acting CFO since February, as well as VP and corporate controller for the last 10 years — has been appointed SVP and CFO, effective immediately. Guttman will report to AmerisourceBergen's president and CEO Steven Collis.

Guttman replaced Michael DiCandilo, who left his role as EVP and CFO of the company earlier this year to pursue other interests.

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. — AmerisourceBergen on Tuesday purchased TheraCom, a subsidiary of CVS Caremark that provides a wide range of support to pharmaceutical and biotechnology drug manufacturers, including consulting and reimbursement services, for $250 million.

TheraCom is a provider of commercialization support services to the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, specifically, providing reimbursement and patient access support services, and will join Lash Group as part of AmerisourceBergen Consulting Services.
