PLEASANTON, Calif. — Safeway on Monday announced it has been named one of the 2014 World's Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute. This is the fourth time and third consecutive year that Safeway has been recognized by Ethisphere for its commitment to maintaining superior business practices. Safeway is the only U.S. large retailer to receive this distinction.

This marks the fifth time that L'Oréal has received this award, which recognizes organizations that continue to raise the bar on ethical leadership and corporate behavior.

Target has made the Ethisphere Institute’s World’s Most Ethical Companies for 2011 list, the retail chain said Thursday.

MINNEAPOLIS — Target has made the Ethisphere Institute’s World’s Most Ethical Companies for 2011 list, the retail chain said Thursday.

Target said the institute, an international business ethics organization, honored Target for business practices and initiatives that benefit the community. This is the fifth consecutive year in which the company has won the award.
