WOODBURY, N.Y. — Arizona Beverages is adding three new Rickeys flavors, a beverage that combines a balance of sweet fruit and tart lime inspired by the Brooklyn original soda fountain novelty, the company announced this week.

The three new Rickeys flavors include: Mango Lime, Grape Lime and Lemon Lime Rickey. These flavors join Cherry Lime, an immensely popular drink, according to the company.

The new drinks contain 10% juice and only 70 calories per serving.

The new can design is modeled after the company's bowtie label that backs the brand's signature on the sides of cans, bottles and other Budweiser merchandise first introduced in 1956 with a national advertising campaign. The new cans will not replace the traditional Budweiser can.

PURCHASE, N.Y. — PepsiCo is testing the waters of a new beverage segment with Kickstart, a new breakfast drink that's a mix of Mountain Dew and 5% real fruit juice. The beverage comes in two flavors, orange citrus and fruit punch, and has 80 calories per 16-oz. can, about half the calories found in a typical soda.

So far, Kickstart is being positioned as an alternative to coffee or juice, and not as an energy drink.

PURCHASE, N.Y. — PepsiCo is planning a controversial line of products under its FritoLay brand. The new line, called Cracker Jack’d, is a caffeinated extension of its Cracker Jack line of popcorn clusters and is expected to hit shelves by the end of the 
fourth quarter.


The line extension is expected to include a caffeinated snack called Power Bites, which will contain approximately 70 mg of caffeine from coffee in each 2-oz. package. Snack mixes and popcorn clusters also will be included in the lineup.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Red Bull energy drink brand has announced plans to roll out Red Bull Editions — three new flavors in color-coordinated 8.4-ounce cans — this coming March.


New flavors will include cranberry, lime and blueberry, in a red, silver and blue can, respectively. The new products mark the first time Red Bull has added new flavors to its offerings, something competitors have already done. Red Bull is the category dollar volume leader in 2012, according to Nielsen figures, with a 42% dollar share vs. 35% for 
competitor Monster.
