“Got milk?” has become ubiquitous. There is 100% clarity of message. The milk mustache says it all: Milk is an essential food and an integral part of a healthy diet; it HAS TO BE in your refrigerator, on your breakfast table and in your lunch box.

J. Michael Pearson has been appointed to chairman of the board at Valeant Pharmaceuticals, the drug maker said Tuesday.

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — J. Michael Pearson has been appointed to chairman of the board at Valeant Pharmaceuticals, the drug maker said Tuesday.

Pearson, who is Valeant's CEO, will extend his contract with Valeant through February 2017, the company said.

Pearson replaces current chairman Robert Ingram, who remains on the board as an independent board director and lead director.

NORTHFIELD, Ill. — Kraft Foods on Monday announced that its EVP and CFO, Timothy McLevish, will leave the company in mid-2011.

McLevish, who served as EVP and CFO for Kraft since 2007, will shift his CFO responsibilities to EVP operations David Brearton. Prior to his exit, McLevish will report the company's first-quarter financial results.

LISLE, Ill. — Pharmacy benefit manager SXC Health Solutions has appointed president and CEO Mark Thierer as chairman of the board, the company said.

Thierer previously was a director at the company and replaces Terrence Burke, who will retire from the company this year. Board compensation committee chairman Steve Cosler has been appointed lead independent director for the company.

J.S. "Si" Brown, president and CEO of Bruce Foods, will serve on GMA's board. Brown has held led the company, which specializes in manufacturing Cajun and Tex-Mex products, since 1973.

HAZLETON, Pa. — Troy Healthcare in January acquired the distribution of its Stopain brand, an external analgesic Troy has been manufacturing since 2002 that is already an up-and-coming pain-relief spray. The brand cracked the top 10 list of external analgesic rubs for the 12 weeks ended Dec. 26, 2010, moving into the No. 10 spot with $1.3 million in sales across food, drug and mass (excluding Walmart), according to SymphonyIRI Group data. SKU growth of 16.1% in that period also is outpacing category growth of 11.3%.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Walmart has named Cindy Davis EVP of its global consumer insights business unit created two weeks ago as part of a larger corporate restructuring.

Davis, who joined Walmart in 2007 and previously served as EVP membership and marketing for Sam’s Club, will continue to report to Sam’s Club president and CEO Brian Cornell, although she will be responsible for understanding broad consumer trends worldwide and for creating advanced analytical tools to support the business.

The company stated that Owen-Jones wished to complete the transfer of responsibilities to his successor, Jean-Paul Agon, before his 65th birthday on March 17, as planned and announced at the annual general meeting in 2005.
