MATTHEWS, N.C. — Holly Shaskey-Platek has been appointed to serve as SVP merchandising for Family Dollar, the retailer announced.

Shaskey-Platek, who has worked at the company since 2008, will lead the home, apparel and seasonal divisions and report to Paul White, EVP and chief merchandising officer. Prior to her new role, she worked as a consultant to provide company-wide change management leadership. Before that, Shaskey-Platek spent a total of 25 years with Target and ShopNBC.

Cullen, who most recently worked at Dean Foods Ice Cream, has more than 25 years of experience with leading food and consumer businesses such as Unilever, Kraft and Orange Glo International.

SAN FRANCISCO — McKesson on Thursday announced that Brian Tyler has been appointed EVP corporate strategy and business development, effective immediately. Tyler succeeds Marc Owen, who joined McKesson Specialty Health as president earlier this year. Tyler will remain president of McKesson’s U.S. Pharmaceutical business while the company searches for his successor.

MINNEAPOLIS — Supervalu on Monday announced Robert Bly will join the company as president of Shoppers, a 56-store division in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C., market.

Bly is expected to begin his new role on Aug. 22 and will report to Chuck Elias, SVP retail operations. Bly replaces Tim Lowe, who recently accepted a new leadership role in Supervalu's merchandising organization.

A former CVS executive has been appointed to a top position at a company that provides pharmacy services to the long-term care industry.

CHICAGO — A former CVS executive has been appointed to a top position at a company that provides pharmacy services to the long-term care industry.

Millennium Pharmacy Systems announced the appointment of A. James Newell as SVP operations. Newell started the new position Monday.

Most recently, Newell was the founder and CEO of the Newell Group and was COO of Quality Partners of Rhode Island, a Medicare quality-improvement organization. He previously served as director of pharmacy programs at CVS.

NEW YORK — Pfizer's general counsel Amy Schulman has assumed the reigns to Pfizer's consumer healthcare business, the Wall Street Journal reported earlier this week.

Schulman replaces Cavan Redmond, who was named the CEO of WebMD Health.

Pfizer Consumer Healthcare president Paul Sturman, who directly oversees the day-to-day operations of the consumer division, will now report to Schulman.

HUNT VALLEY, Md. — Procter & Gamble’s CoverGirl brand has tapped singer and songwriter Janelle Monáe to be its newest CoverGirl.

The artist, once called a “different kind of diva” by Vogue, just wrapped her first CoverGirl advertising shoot, which is scheduled to debut in the September issue of that publication next week.

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Shopko announced that a former JCPenney executive has joined the company.

Shopko said Craig Gourley will serve as its new SVP and general merchandise manager of home and hardlines. Gourley will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of merchandising for the home division, including developing strategies, negotiation of vendor partnerships and managing the buying team. He will report to EVP and chief merchandising officer Jill Soltau.

Campbell's confirmed that a new leader will take over the company's Pepperidge Farm business.

CAMDEN, N.J. — Campbell's confirmed that a new leader will take over the company's Pepperidge Farm business.

Irene Chang Britt, who has worked at Campbell's since 2005, will replace Pat Callaghan as president of Pepperidge Farm. Britt is the first woman to lead Pepperidge Farm since company founder Margaret Rudkin presided over the business from 1937 to 1966. Pepperidge Farm was acquired by Campbell's in 1961.

Britt will be based at Pepperidge Farm's headquarters in Norwalk, Conn., and will report to Campbell's president and CEO Denise Morrison.

CARLISLE, Pa. — An Ahold USA executive has received honors from a New England business publication.

Ahold USA announced Tuesday that EVP and CFO Paula Price was named 2012 CFO of the Year in the public company category by the Boston Business Journal and was honored at the newspaper's annual luncheon last Wednesday. Ahold USA, a subsidiary of Netherlands-based Royal Ahold, operates the Stop & Shop, Giant-Landover and Giant-Carlisle supermarket chains and the Peapod online grocery service.

SAN FRANCISCO — Randy Heiser recently joined McKesson as director of retail national accounts of Six Sigma, DSN has learned.

Heiser comes to McKesson from Giant Eagle, where he was VP pharmacy and oversaw the day-to-day operation of more than 209 locations. Heiser started his retail pharmacy career in 1980 with Rite Aid, where he worked his way up to director of professional placement and director of pharmacy and therapeutic
management.

Effective Jan. 1, 2013, Coca-Cola will organize around three major operating businesses: Coca-Cola International — which will consist of the company's Europe, Pacific and Eurasia and Africa operations; Coca-Cola Americas — which will consist of the company's North America and Latin America operations; and the Bottling Investments Group, which oversees the Coca-Cola-owned bottling operations outside of North America.

Mallott served as VP and chief financial officer of Intimate Brands, a former subsidiary of Limited Brands, and most recently provided retail stock research as an independent consultant to Westminster Research Associates and, prior to that, as an analyst for Coker & Palmer. He is currently a director of Big Lots.

Blu, based in Franklin, Ky., said Dombrowski will be responsible for strategic planning and business development, including mergers and acquisitions. Blu was founded in 2006.

Dombrowski previously worked as senior director for strategic planning and business development for Kremers Urban Pharmaceuticals.
