WILTON, Conn. — Beiersdorf, the U.S. subsidiary of Beiersdorf AG — a global skin care company based in Hamburg, Germany — has announced the appointment of Bill Graham as president and general manager of Beiersdorf North America.

Graham previously served as president and general manager of Beiersdorf. His new role includes leadership of both the United States and Canadian business units.
 
Graham was promoted to the position of general manager of Beiersdorf in August 2011, after joining the company as VP sales in 2007.

Chris Hopkins will be responsible for continuing to expand distribution of Marley Coffee through supermarkets, specialty retailers and convenience stores throughout the United States. Prior to his new role, Hopkins served as SVP national accounts at Marley Beverages, where he helped drive Marley's Mellow Mood first year sales of 1 million cases, which has grown to almost 3 million cases after two years in the market.

As RB's healthcare marketing director, McLaud will oversee the company's healthcare portfolio, including Mucinex, Delsym and Cepacol.

Tapiero has served as SVP and president of emerging markets for Lilly since 2009 and brings more than 25 years of international business experience to the $3.5 billion spice company. Tapiero currently leads Lilly's business strategy in many of the world's fastest-growing markets, such as China, Russia, Brazil, Mexico, South Korea and Turkey. John Hamill will serve as Savient's SVP and CFO, where he will be responsible for all financial and accounting functions of the company. MINNEAPOLIS — Supervalu on Thursday announced the appointment of Kathy Persian as SVP and chief information officer. Persian, 45, joined the company in February 2010 in the role of group VP retail and merchandising systems, and later moved to group VP corporate planning, analysis and business process. 

Persian was named to the CIO post following the decision by Wayne Shurts to accept a position with another company, Supervalu reported. In her new role as chief information officer, Persian will lead all of the company’s information technology activities.

NEW YORK — Beauty company Coty has appointed Jean Mortier as president of its Prestige business, effective immediately.

Mortier has served as SVP, commercial for Coty since 2005. He succeeds Michele Scannavini, who was named CEO of Coty in July after serving as president of Coty Prestige for 10 years. In his new capacity, Mortier will lead the continued development and growth of the Coty Prestige portfolio, as well as seek new business ventures and collaborations. Based in Paris, he will also serve on Coty's executive committee.

WASHINGTON — Just days after Sanofi Pasteur's hiring of actor Chris O'Donnell as a celebrity spokesman for its flu vaccination campaign, the American Lung Association has hired actress Sarah Chalke for its campaign, for which it is also collaborating with Sanofi Pasteur.

The American Lung Association announced the enlistment of Chalke for its "Faces of Influenza" initiative to promote flu immunizations. Chalke, a cast member of the show Scrubs and a mother, will be the spokeswoman for the campaign during the 2012-2013 season.

Moriarty most recently served as general counsel at the Celgene, a biopharmaceutical company, where he was responsible for global legal strategy and served on the company's management committee. Prior to that, Moriarty was general counsel and corporate secretary at Medco Health Solutions.

LANDOVER, Md. — Giant-Landover has appointed Gayle Shields as its director of pharmacy operations, the Ahold USA-owned supermarket chain said Friday.

Shields brings nearly 25 years of pharmacy operations experience to the chain, officially known as Giant Food of Landover, Md., and a separate banner from Carlisle, Pa.-based Giant Food Stores, also owned by Ahold. Shields previously worked as director of pharmacy operations for Albertson's and Save Mart, and attended college and graduate school in South Africa.

INDIANAPOLIS — Eli Lilly announced that Michael Harrington will be promoted to SVP and general counsel, effective Jan. 1, 2013.

Harrington — who currently serves as VP and deputy general counsel for the drug maker and is responsible for the legal function across Lilly's five business units — will replace Robert Armitage, who will retire at the end of the year. In his new role, Harrington will report to Lilly chairman, president and CEO John Lechleiter and will serve on the company's executive committee.
