New research released Tuesday found that when it comes to treating pain, a growing number of consumers know how to safely use medicines with acetaminophen and to avoid accidental overdose and liver damage.

WASHINGTON — New research released Tuesday found that when it comes to treating pain, a growing number of consumers know how to safely use medicines with acetaminophen and to avoid accidental overdose and liver damage. A nationwide consumer survey conducted by the Consumer Healthcare Products Association Educational Foundation, in conjunction with its work on the Acetaminophen Awareness Coalition’s Know Your Dose educational campaign, shows that consumer safe use knowledge and risk awareness has increased over a three year period (2010-2013).

The Consumer Healthcare Products Association, the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America and the Miami Coalition last week held a town hall meeting on preventing teen cough medicine abuse.

MIAMI — The Consumer Healthcare Products Association, the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America and the Miami Coalition last week held a town hall meeting on preventing teen cough medicine abuse.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of medicine abuse and included Myriam Masihy from Univision to serve as the mistress of ceremony.

WASHINGTON — The Consumer Healthcare Products Association on Thursday announced that Emily Skor has been selected to serve as VP communications and alliance development, effective Feb. 14.

Reporting to CHPA president and CEO Scott Melville, Skor will oversee and provide strategic direction for all association communications, media relations, public education, brand management, consumer and market research and strategic partnerships. She also will oversee the CHPA Educational Foundation and serve as a member of the association’s senior management team.
