Cardinal Health reported fiscal year 2013 third-quarter revenue of $24.6 billion, a 8.9% decline as compared to the quarter a year ago.

DUBLIN, Ohio — Cardinal Health on Thursday reported fiscal year 2013 third-quarter revenue of $24.6 billion, a 8.9% decline as compared with the quarter a year ago. 

However, Cardinal Health reported net earnings per share of $1.01, up 5.2%. According to published reports, Wall Street had been expecting greater revenue of $24.7 billion but at a lesser gain with earnings expectations estimated around 96 cents per share.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A company that manufactures pharmacy dispensing machines has moved into a new headquarters.

RxMedic Systems announced Wednesday the opening of the new headquarters in Wake Forest, N.C., a suburb of Raleigh. The company said expansion of product lines created the need to move into a new location. "With our recent growth, we had just outgrown our previous location," VP David Williams said. "Now, we have much more space for both product development and manufacturing."

Beauty retailer Ulta Beauty posted a same-store sales increase of 12.6% during the seven-week holiday period.

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. — Beauty retailer Ulta Beauty posted a same-store sales increase of 12.6% during the seven-week holiday period.

Total net sales for the seven-week holiday period, from Nov. 13 to Dec. 31, were $386 million, a 24.4% increase from the prior-year holiday period of $310.4 million. Comparable store-sales for the 2011 holiday period increased 12.6%, compared with a 9.5% increase during the same period in the prior year. Over a two-year period, comparable store sales increased 22.1%.

Specialty pharmacy provider Assured Pharmacy said first-quarter net sales jumped to $4.4 million for the period ended March 31, an increase of 22.4% from the year-ago quarter.

FRISCO, Texas — Specialty pharmacy provider Assured Pharmacy said first-quarter net sales jumped to $4.4 million for the period ended March 31, an increase of 22.4% from the year-ago quarter.

The 22.4% increase in sales for the quarter primarily was attributed to an increase in the number of prescriptions dispensed during the period, Assured said.

EL PASO — Helen of Troy Limited, a designer, developer and marketer of brand-name household and personal care consumer products, posted a boost in fiscal year revenues in its personal care segment, primarily reflecting its March 2010 acquisition of the Pert Plus and Sure brands.

For the fiscal year ended Feb. 28, net revenue in the personal care division increased 9.4% to $491 million, compared with $449 million in the year-ago period.

For the fourth quarter, the segment posted net revenue of $113 million, up 11%, compared with $102 million in the year-ago period.

Drugstore.com posted a 23% increase in adjusted net sales during its fourth quarter ended Jan. 2.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — Drugstore.com posted a 23% increase in adjusted net sales during its fourth quarter ended Jan. 2.

Total sales for the quarter were $123.6 million. Drugstore.com also said that it served 533,000 new customers, excluding its strategic partnerships.

The company also report a narrowed loss of $663,000, or 1 cent per share, an improvement from the prior-year period, when Drugstore.com recorded a net loss of $1.6 million and a net loss per share of 2 cents per share.
