According to the company, bariatric surgical treatment is one of the faster growing options to assist with weight loss. Weight-loss surgery patients have special pre- and post-surgery nutritional requirements. Wellesse targets specific nutrient deficiencies within the weight loss surgery community with the same dedication offered to existing consumers.

SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration last week took legal action against the dietary supplement manufacturer ATF Fitness Products for substituting ingredients and products without noting the changes on the final product labels.

The permanent injunction, filed on behalf of the FDA by the U.S. Department of Justice, would stop the defendants from making and distributing more than 400 products for being in violation of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. Brands include Sci-Fit, Nature's Science and For Store Only.

Pterostilbene is found naturally in blueberries, grapes and the bark of the Indian kino tree (Pterocarpus marsupium), the company stated. Also called dimethylresveratrol, it is a member of the class of nutrients known as stilbenes, which also includes resveratrol.
