According to SymphonyIRI Group, sales of shaving cream rose 3.43% to $282.38 million during the 52 weeks ended Oct. 2 at food, drug and mass (excluding Walmart). During that same period, sales of razors rose 13.5% to $282.4 million.

The 100%-natural shaving bar is made with grape seed oil and shea butter to seal in moisture and primrose seed oil for irritation-free shaving. It also has aloe to soothe and calm skin.

The bar is designed to lather into as much or little lather as you like, and is packaged in a recyclable carton made from at least 30% post-consumer paper.

This two-step system, which will be available at retail in September, includes a skin guarding balm pretreatment to prepare skin for hair removal and a water-based hair removal cream. The suggested retail price is $24.99.


According to a 2010 Olay global survey, 85% of women occasionally remove facial hair, and they are as concerned about unwanted facial hair as they are about fine lines and wrinkles.

ST. LOUIS Energizer Holdings emerged as the winning bidder for American Safety Razor in bankruptcy court proceedings, inking a deal to buy substantially all of ASR’s assets for $301 million in cash and the assumption of certain liabilities.

The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval. Energizer is the parent company of Schick Wilkinson Sword, the second-largest manufacturer and marketer of men’s and women’s wet-shave products in the world.
