The brand has introduced Yoplait Smoothies, which feature frozen fruit, fruit juice and real Yoplait Greek yogurt. The smoothies can be made by adding 3/4 cup of skim milk and blending. Each 4.5-oz. freezer package yields a single 12-oz. serving, Yoplait said.

RetailWire reported that Robofusion, founded by Allan Jones, had developed an eponymous robot that allows customers to create their own ice cream desserts.

According to the company's website, customers walk up to the machine, choose 1-of-4 "Robot Characters" that program the robot movements and effects and then design a five-layer ice cream and candy treat.

The store-brand Comfort Care infant formula is designed for babies with fussiness or gas and will be sold as a nutritionally comparable version of Gerber Good Start gentle infant formula at leading retailers in 2012.

Sales of the national brand are estimated to be $55 million for the latest 52-weeks, as measured by SymphonyIRI Group.

Gerber said Thursday that its Good Start milk-based formulas were the first and only infant formulas to meet the FDA’s criteria for a qualified health claim. The partially hydrolyzed formula may reduce a baby’s risk of developing atopic dermatitis in the first year.

ALLEGAN, Mich. The Food and Drug Administration has given Perrigo the go-ahead to manufacture milk-based infant formulas through its partner, Saint-Claire, Quebec-based Kerry Proteins and Nutritionals, Perrigo said Wednesday.

 

The company received FDA clearance to market milk-based, ready-to-use and concentrate infant formulas with ARA and DHA in 8-oz. and 13-oz. bottles, and milk-based organic infant formula in 8-oz. bottles.
