Procter & Gamble's CoverGirl brand has selected actress Sofia Vergara to be its newest spokesmodel.

HUNT VALLEY, Md. — Procter & Gamble's CoverGirl brand has selected actress Sofia Vergara to be its newest spokesmodel.

The Emmy-nominated actress currently is shooting her first advertising campaign for the cosmetics brand. The ads are slated to debut in January 2012 and Vergara will be representing some new additions to the CoverGirl collection.

Women who visit the P&G Him/Her Studio are able to indulge in such services as hair and makeup touch-ups, and guys can take advantage of grooming services.

Following the success of its 13-store test in 2010, Sears has announced that it now is expanding its in-store cosmetic departments to more than 100 stores and online.

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Following the success of its 13-store test in 2010, Sears has announced that it now is expanding its in-store cosmetic departments to more than 100 stores and online.

The staffed beauty departments include such mass brands as Revlon, L'Oréal, Maybelline and CoverGirl. The concept also includes nail care from Sally Hansen, Nicole by OPI and Essie, as well as skin care and fragrances.

CINCINNATI Procter & Gamble's CoverGirl is launching in January its new NatureLuxe makeup collection, which includes NatureLuxe silk foundation and NatureLuxe gloss balm.

The NatureLuxe silk foundation contains hints of natural jojoba and rosehip extracts along with cucumber water, which is a lighter alternative to a heavier-feeling emollient. The formula is oil-free and paraben-free and contains SPF 10.

The foundation is available in 14 different shades, each with a suggested retail price of $11.99.

NEW YORK In response to a national survey, which found that many women often are disappointed with their purchase of household products and desire more product innovation, Procter & Gamble has developed the multipronged “Have You Tried This Yet?” campaign as a way to highlight the manufacturer’s newer, more unique products. As part of the campaign, P&G opened to the public on Oct. 22 an interactive pop-up store in New York to drive awareness and product trials.
