Private equity fund Brynwood Partners VI L.P. announced on Tuesday that its newly formed portfolio company, High Ridge Brands, has acquired the Zest brand from Procter & Gamble.

GREENWICH, Conn. — Private equity fund Brynwood Partners VI L.P. announced on Tuesday that its newly formed portfolio company, High Ridge Brands, has acquired the Zest brand from Procter & Gamble.

High Ridge Brands purchased the rights to the Zest brand in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean markets. The company will be based in Stamford, Conn., and Brynwood VI has majority ownership of the company.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Manchester College has received a $35 million grant from the Lilly Endowment to launch a new school of pharmacy.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Manchester College has received a $35 million grant from the Lilly Endowment to launch a new school of pharmacy.

Manchester College, a college of 1,278 students affiliated with the Church of the Brethren and based in North Manchester, Ind., said the grant would allow it to develop its first doctoral program on a campus in the nearby city of Fort Wayne, Ind. The Lilly Endowment was founded in 1937 with stock in Indianapolis-based drug maker Eli Lilly.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Regional specialty pharmacy chain ReCept has appointed several people to new executive positions, the company said Wednesday.

ReCept, which owns 15 stores in Texas and specializes in compounding pharmacy services for people with such conditions as HIV/AIDS and cancer, announced the appointments of Nicky Otts as chairman and CEO, Carmine DeNardo as president and COO, Rob Jarvis as EVP sales and chief marketing officer, Jeff Brumbaugh as chief information officer and Stephanie Romero as VP finance.

TOKYO The president and CEO of Agensys, a subsidiary of Japanese drug maker Astellas, will retire, Astellas said Tuesday.

 

Donald Rice founded Agensys as UroGenesys in Santa Monica, Calif., in 1996 for the development of biotech drugs for treating cancer. Astellas acquired Agensys in December 2007.

 

Former Allergan SVP, head of global drug development and chief medical officer Sef Kurstjens will replace Rice as president and CEO of Agensys.

POCATELLO, Idaho Portneuf Medical Center has teamed up with Bellin Health FastCare to operate two retail clinics in Walmart stores in Pocatello and Blackfoot, Idaho, according to a report by the Idaho State Journal.

 

The partnership, effective as of Sept. 1, will offer treatment for such acute ailments as sore throats, pink eye and allergies. Next month, another FastCare is slated to open in a Walmart in Peru, Ill.
