Sgt. Jason Grellner, past president of the Missouri Narcotics Officers Association.

According to that data, sales of PSE products were up 81% in September versus August in Bridgeton, Mo., and increases in Maryland Heights and Chesterfield were 59% and 51%, respectively.

For its distribution solutions business, McKesson reported that revenue was up 10% to $29.4 billion. The increase, the wholesaler said, was primarily driven by growth in U.S. pharmaceutical direct distribution and services revenues (which rose to nearly $26 billion), as well as the acquisition of US Oncology, the company said.

ESI said that its revenue grew from about $11.3 billion in the third quarter 2010 to nearly $11.6 billion. The company also reported that adjusted earnings per diluted share was 79 cents, representing a 22% increase over last year. Additionally, net income from continuing operations were $324.7 million, compared with $301.5 million in the year-ago period.

TheraCom is a provider of commercialization support services to the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, specifically, providing reimbursement and patient access support services, and will join Lash Group as part of AmerisourceBergen Consulting Services.

These compared with respective sales and second-quarter profits of $255.5 million and $18.4 million in second quarter 2010.

For the first six months of fiscal year 2011, the company had sales of $435.8 million and a loss of $99.9 million, compared with $537 million in sales and profits of $44.7 million during the first six months of 2010.

Worldwide net sales totaled $4.2 billion in the second quarter, an increase of 9.5%, versus second quarter 2010. Organic sales (net sales excluding foreign exchange, acquisitions and divestments) grew 3.5%.

Net income rose 3% to $622 million and diluted earnings per share increased 8% to $1.26. Net income and diluted earnings per share in second quarter 2010 were $603 million and $1.17, respectively.
