Tina Schiel, SVP enterprise strategy and new business development, was promoted to EVP stores and will join the executive committee, while Laysha Ward, who will retain her position as Target's community relations president and Target Foundation president, also will join the executive committee.

CLEVELAND — American Greetings is decking card aisles with its LCD-enhanced cards, preloaded with Christmas images or ready to be customized with favorite photos. The four designs feature full-color LCD displays and high-quality audio.

American Greetings was the first to bring LCD technology to greeting cards last year. The patented innovation allows consumers to upload photos into a digital slideshow card. This year, the company has expanded its card selection.

CLEVELAND American Greetings is bringing laughs on the go with its latest line.

Pocket Talkers offer a whole new take on funny sound cards. The cards feature detachable talking characters that are sure to entertain, American Greetings said. Each "talker" is mounted to the front of the greeting card and is ready to serve up a series of funny audio clips at the push of a button.

 

Pocket Talkers are available for purchase wherever American Greetings products are sold.

DALLAS — Advanced Beauty Systems has announced Texas-based advertising agency Slingshot as its advertising agency of record. Slingshot will work with Advanced Beauty Systems to develop print, broadcast and digital campaigns for its bodycology, Dr. Teal's and Cantu Shea Butter brands.

Slingshot will provide strategic planning, creative conception, media planning and brand positioning for all three brands. Ad campaigns are slated to run in first quarter 2011, coinciding with the launch of bodycology's new Rich & Creamy body lotion.

NEW YORK —In an effort to drive awareness and product trials, Procter & Gamble brought to New York in late October an interactive pop-up store, highlighting such brands as Tide, Crest and Olay.

The store, which was open to the public from Oct. 22 to 31 and located at 101 West 57th St. near Sixth Avenue, was part of P&G’s multipronged “Have You Tried This Yet?” campaign.

Truvia's Sweetness Stories, a new multimillion-dollar print, television, digital and social media advertising campaign, is designed to connect with consumers on an emotional level, the company said. The campaign includes four 30-second television spots, as well as 15-second spots that will run nationally on network, cable and digital. The new print campaign will run in a variety of national publications. A social media program also is planned.
