Cardinal Health on Tuesday announced that Tony Caprio, EVP in the Office of Customer Experience and general manager for the Healthcare IQ business partnership, will retire from the company after nearly 40 years of service to the healthcare community.

Caprio will leave his current role at the end of December.

Cardinal Health hosted a full-day pharmacy ownership “boot camp” to support Women in Pharmacy in Seattle, Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Cardinal Health 2013 Retail Business Conference, helping to pave the way to independent ownership for a key demographic across pharmacy schools and pharmacy operations — female pharmacists.

As part of its continued commitment to supporting future pharmacists, Cardinal Health announced that six pharmacy schools across the country will receive more than $625,000 in funding through the Cardinal Health Pharmacy Scholarship Program.

SEATTLE — As part of its continued commitment to supporting future pharmacists, Cardinal Health today announced that six pharmacy schools across the country will receive more than $625,000 in funding through the Cardinal Health Pharmacy Scholarship Program. The company has donated nearly $2.2 million to more than 20 universities through this program since its launch in June 2011.

Medications only do their jobs if patients take them as instructed by physicians, but physicians' ability to ensure that patients are doing what they're supposed to is limited. That's where pharmacists can step in to help make a difference.
