WOONSOCKET, R.I. — The CVS Caremark Charitable Trust, the private foundation managed by CVS Caremark, is helping to support the relief efforts for communities along the East Coast impacted by Hurricane Irene by donating $75,000 to the American Red Cross and distributing thousands of dollars worth of supplies to local residents.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark’s in-store health clinic business MinuteClinic has opened a new clinic inside the CVS/pharmacy store in downtown Charleston, S.C. — marking the first clinic to open in the Charleston metro area and MinuteClinic's 17th location in South Carolina.

MinuteClinic plans to open seven additional clinics along the South Carolina coast between now and early 2012. The new clinics will be located in the Charleston, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach metropolitan areas.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark has announced the results of its previously announced solicitation of consents from the registered holders as of 5 p.m. Eastern time on Aug. 8 of its 6.125% senior notes due Aug. 15, 2016, to terminate the replacement capital covenant — which was entered into on May 25, 2007 — for the benefit of the holders of the notes in connection with the issuance of its 6.302% enhanced capital advantaged preferred securities due 2062.

Cosby most recently served as Macy’s president of stores, where he was responsible for all Macy's store operations and support functions nationwide.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark posted second-quarter results that were at the high end of its guidance and narrowed its 2011 outlook on continued confidence. But it was the pharmacy benefit management business — and the potential merger of PBM rivals Express Scripts and Medco Health Solutions — that was top of mind for many industry observers, and was a topic that CVS Caremark president and CEO Larry Merlo hit head-on at the start of Thursday morning’s conference call.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — MinuteClinic has surpassed 10 million patient visits since opening its doors in 2000.

The retail clinic operator, which is owned by CVS Caremark, said that the 10 millionth patient was seen at a clinic in Quincy, Mass., one of the communities where MinuteClinic has opened new locations in the past 18 months.

WASHINGTON — Lowering the maximum corporate tax rate could allow CVS Caremark to accelerate investments in U.S. jobs, technology and infrastructure — all of which could ultimately help lower healthcare costs and bolster the economy. That was a key message that CVS Caremark president and CEO Larry Merlo had for the Senate Finance Committee during a recent hearing.
