CINCINNATI — Kroger on Tuesday announced two finance executive promotions that will be effective with their elections by Kroger's board of directors expected on June 27. Scott Henderson has been named VP pension investment and strategy and Todd Foley has been named VP and treasurer. 

Henderson, 57, currently serves as Kroger's VP and treasurer, a position he has held since 2003. He will lead a new team that is responsible for overseeing nearly $12 billion of assets.

CINCINNATI — Kroger on Tuesday announced the planned retirement of VP and pension investment officer, Rich Manka, effective July 15.

"Throughout his career, Rich has been a trusted member of Kroger's leadership team," stated Mike Schlotman, Kroger's CFO. "Pension plan trustees and participants alike have benefited from his vast knowledge and influence on investment strategies and plan designs. We thank Rich for his contributions to our company and industry and wish him the very best."

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Bausch + Lomb on Tuesday named Robert Bertolini as president and CFO effective immediately. In this capacity, he will oversee the company's finance, information technology and global quality and operations functions. Bertolini, who assumes CFO responsibilities from Brian Harris, will report to Bausch + Lomb CEO Brent Saunders.  

CHICAGO — Retail executives are moderating their expectations for 2013 following uneven sales in December and January, according to a new survey of CFOs by professional services firm BDO USA.

AUSTIN, Texas — Natural foods retailer Whole Foods Market has appointed a former Accenture executive as its global VP and chief information officer, the company said.

Whole Foods announced the appointment of Jason Buechel, who will report directly to co-CEO Walter Robb and CFO Glenda Flanagan, overseeing the technology team in the company's Austin, Texas, headquarters and 12 regional offices in the United States and the United Kingdom.

MINNEAPOLIS — Former Unilever Group executive has been appointed EVP and CFO of Regis, a provider of beauty salons, hair restoration centers and cosmetology education.

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. — Ulta Beauty has announced the appointment of Scott Settersten as acting CFO, effective immediately. Settersten replaces Bruce Hartman, who has resigned from his position as CFO by mutual agreement with the company.

DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens on Tuesday announced several new senior management roles, including an expanded role for CFO Wade Miquelon and the appointment of current SVP and chief strategy officer Robert Zimmerman as the lead executive responsible for the Walgreens-Alliance Boots' "synergy team." Succeeding Zimmerman as chief strategy officer will be Brad Fluegel.

MODESTO, Calif. — Save Mart Supermarkets has appointed a new chief human resources officer and chief legal officer, as well as a new CFO.

In the newly-created role of CHRO/CLO at Save Mart, Eric Nadworny is responsible for leading the human resources, labor relations, risk management, compliance and legal functions for the Modesto, Calif.-based grocer. Nadworny has worked at such companies as Ross Stores, BJ's Wholesale Club and Shaw's Supermarkets.

NEW YORK — The Estée Lauder Cos. — whose brand portfolio includes Bumble and Bumble, American Beauty, Aveda and La Mer — has appointed Tracey Travis as EVP and CFO.

She will jointly report to executive chairman William Lauder and Fabrizio Freda, president and CEO. Travis will assume her new position on Aug. 20.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Nipro Diagnostics has appointed a new finance chief.

The manufacturer and marketer of blood-glucose monitoring products and supplies for diabetes management said Dean Sorrentino has joined the company as CFO. Sorrentino will have responsibility for the company's accounting, treasury, tax, legal and information technology functions, and will partner with other senior executives to oversee companywide business operations. Prior to joining the company, he served as VP and corporate controller at CompuPay.
