Campbell's has completed the acquisition of Bolthouse Farms from a fund managed by private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners for $1.55 billion in cash.

CAMDEN, N.J. — Campbell's has completed the acquisition of Bolthouse Farms from a fund managed by private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners for $1.55 billion in cash.

The company said it will operate Bolthouse as a separate business unit. Members of Bolthouse Farms' senior management team will continue to lead the business, with Bolthhouse Farms president Jeff Dunn reporting directly to Campbell's president and CEO Denise Morrison. The acquisition was first announced in early July.

Bolthouse Farms has launched orange and carrot blend, which offers 300% more vitamin A than traditional orange juice; Protein Plus blended coffee, which offers a spin on the traditional coffee drink by providing consumers with a boost of protein and key B vitamins; and two new breakfast replacement drinks: Strawberry parfait breakfast smoothie and peach parfait breakfast smoothie.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bolthouse Farms has overhauled its salad dressing line to include less calories and fat, as well as two new flavors.

The company said its premium refrigerated salad dressings now contain at least 55% fewer calories and 75% less fat than the leading brand, making each serving of the dressings 45 calories or less.

In line with these changes, the company has added zesty french and salsa ranch salad dressings to its lineup.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bolthouse Farms has announced that the American Heart Association has certified its 100% carrot juice, baby carrots and cello carrots.

The products now will tout a heart checkmark on each label, the company said, which indicates the products meet the nutritional standards the American Heart Association sets for foods and beverages.

Aura botanical water, available in cucumber lemon rosemary, orange basil and grapefruit sage, carries a suggested retail price of $1.99 for each 15.2-oz. bottle.

Each serving of Aura contains 45 calories but packs a robust assortment of essential vitamins, including 50% of the recommended daily value of vitamins B3, B5, B6 and B12, as well as 100% of the recommended daily value of vitamin C, according to Bolthouse Farms.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bolthouse Farms unveiled the newest addition to its Protein Plus beverage line.

Retailing for about $3.19 for each 12.5-oz. bottle, the parfait smoothie is Bolthouse's third Protein Plus variety. Each parfait smoothie features 25-g protein and contains 180 calories and 3 grams of fiber per serving.

The Protein Plus parfait smoothie and other Bolthouse Farms products are available at such retailers as Acme and Stop and Shop.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bolthouse Farms is tackling junk food with a new campaign for its baby carrots.

In conjunction with the growers alliance A Bunch of Carrot Farmers, Bolthouse Farms kicked off its Eat 'Em Like Junk Food campaign, which markets the wholesome snack by playfully mocking the marketing of junk food items.

The initial test effort of the campaign was kicked off last September in Syracuse, N.Y., and Cincinnati.
