The Army and Air Force Exchange Service and Marvel Custom Solutions on Thursday announced the 13th collaborative issue of an “Avengers” comic book, available only through AAFES locations.

DALLAS — The Army and Air Force Exchange Service and Marvel Custom Solutions on Thursday announced the 13th collaborative issue of an “Avengers” comic book, available only through AAFES locations.

Marvel and AAFES have printed 1 million copies of the free comic book and currently are available at Exchange stores worldwide while supplies last.

Shull replaced the Exchange’s last uniformed Commander, Brig. Gen. Fran Hendricks.

DALLAS — The Army and Air Force Exchange Service is offering shoppers a chance to win a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

From June 15 to 28, military shoppers can visit their local AAFES and enter to win in the 7UP Harley-Davidson Sweepstakes. One lcustomer will win a 2012 Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight, valued at $11,000. Entry is limited to shoppers ages 18 years and older who have a valid driver's license.

DALLAS — Military shoppers at Travis Air Force Base near Fairfield, Calif., welcomed the opening of a new Army and Air Force Exchange Service experience as a renovated and rebranded exchange opened earlier this month.
 
The renovated exchange boasts new colors, textures and graphics and also features a new layout divided into three major merchandise categories: home, life and style.

The Defense Department has instructed AAFES to convert the Commanding General’s position to a nonmilitary director/CEO position, marking the first time in the AAFES’s 116-year history that a civilian will lead the organization. COO Mike Howard will take over as acting director/CEO as the organization’s board seeks a permanent replacement.

The Army and Air Force Exchange Service is planning to continue operations even if the U.S. government shuts down, the military retailer announced Thursday.

DALLAS — The Army and Air Force Exchange Service is planning to continue operations even if the U.S. government shuts down, the military retailer announced Thursday.

On April 9, the current budget authorization will expire. At that point, the federal government will potentially institute a mandatory shutdown for “non-essential” personnel.
