NEW YORK — UPS stores in San Diego and Washington are offering 3-D printing services of objects ranging from pet-feeding devices to high-tech smartphone attachments to car parts, according to published reports.

The Atlantic recently reported online that the San Diego store had hired an engineer, and customers could come in with an idea, get it on paper and then print the object. Customers have included owners of old cars that needed replacement parts, engineers and doctors.

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — The maker of a line of 3-D kiosks is installing them at 200 Rite Aid stores in New York and Los Angeles after the completion of a 10-store pilot program last year.

Provision Interactive Technologies said Tuesday that it had entered a multi-year deal with Rite Aid to install its 3-D Reward Centers, which generate 3-D holographic videos, information about the Wellness+ loyalty card program and promotions.

Rite Aid is planning to roll out 3-D holographic display kiosks in its stores next year, according to the kiosks' manufacturer.

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Rite Aid is planning to roll out 3-D holographic display kiosks in its stores next year, according to the kiosks' manufacturer.

In a letter to shareholders, Provision Interactive Technologies president and CEO Curt Thornton wrote that it would place its 3-D Reward Centers in Rite Aid stores, starting with 200 stores and, according to the agreement between the two companies, eventually installing the kiosks in up to 4,800 stores. Rite Aid currently has 4,679 stores.

The company said that its new DXG-018 3-D pocket camera and viewer brings photography to a new level. The dual-lens 3-D camera snaps color pictures, which are saved onto a SanDisk card (sold separately) and then can be printed on standard 4x6 photo paper.

LOS ANGELES — My Idol Pops is rolling out licensed confections through its My Idolpops line based on the upcoming 3-D movie "The Smurfs."

The beloved blue characters, including Clumsy, Smurfette, Papa and Brainy, are captured in My Idolpops hand-crafted lollipops. The 1-oz. lollipops are wrapped in a bag bearing the colorful image of each Smurf character and displayed in a four-color playful display box of 24. The pops also are available in peg-hook bags of two pops each.

"The Smurfs" is slated for theatrical release on July 29.
