LOS ANGELES – Walgreens lifted the curtain on its latest flagship location, bringing the Chicagoland's brand of retail theater to the city where stars are made. The latest flagship rendition is located at the original site of Schwab's Pharmacy, where Hollywood stars like Lana Turner were first discovered.

It's the first store where Walgreens showcases the potential behind its Alliance Boots affiliation with a No.7 merchandising installment. It's the same fixturing presented to customers in the U.K. market but with special items developed for U.S. It's also the first store to include the merchandising pop of big beauty brands like Avene that helps to create more of a upscale department store feel where the brands are destinations. New brands that are making a debut at this location include Cargo and Balm. And a new brow bar makes a star out of brushes in much the same way the nail bar made a splash with nail colors in New York.

Walgreens also created a local flavor across its fresh department with sushi developed especially for West Coast tastes by incorporating a Pan-Asian Fusion influence with ingredients like jalapeno. The juice and smoothie bars also include special flavors and ingredients for the West Coast palate, such as ginger. The store's wine department has also been infused with a local flair, with several wine selections being made by the authors behind the movie Sideways.
