Tenn. health system physicians to serve as medical directors at seven MinuteClinic locations
WOONSOCKET, R.I. — MinuteClinic has made a deal with a Tennessee healthcare system to expand clinics in three counties in the state, the CVS Caremark clinics division said Wednesday.
MinuteClinic has a partnership with Parkridge Health System, itself a division of HCA/TriStar, to have Parkridge physicians serve as medical directors for seven walk-in clinics. The clinics operate inside CVS stores in Chattanooga, Hixson and Signal Mountain, Tenn., as well as a new location in Cleveland, Tenn., which opened last week.
"As we have experienced with TriStar Health in Nashville and in other communities in the U.S., strategic clinical affiliations between MinuteClinic and health systems such as Parkridge enhance our ability to extend high quality medical services to patients in convenient retail locations near where they live and work," MinuteClinic president and CVS Caremark SVP and associate chief medical officer Andrew Sussman said. "We look forward to having Parkridge Health System physicians collaborate with MinuteClinic nurse practitioners to provide quality oversight, teaching and back-up so MinuteClinic can provide the best care at the lowest overall cost for patients and employers."
