SUPPLIER NEWS — Brynwood Partners VI announced that High Ridge Brands, its portfolio company and owner of the North American Zest personal cleansing franchise, signed a purchase agreement with Unilever to acquire the Alberto VO5 brand and marketing rights in the United States and Puerto Rico, as well as the rights to the Rave brand and marketing rights worldwide. Unilever has retained the rights to the Alberto VO5 brand outside the United States and Puerto Rico.
Elizabeth Arden has amended its long-term license agreement with Liz Claiborne to acquire the trademarks for the Curve fragrance brands and selected other smaller fragrance brands.
Firstline, a manufacturer of hair care accessories for multicultural consumers, has introduced temporary hair attachments for African-American women called Evolve NuDo clip-on hair attachments. Made with synthetic fiber, the NuDo clip-on hair attachments can be styled just like human hair and are virtually undetectable when clipped or wrapped into the hair, according to Firstline. The attachments are priced at $14 to $20 each.
Plackers, which makes disposable dental flossers, has announced its continued partnership with Oral Health America, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to oral health care. This year, Plackers also is sponsoring the first Smiles Across America Innovation Grants, and will donate more than 100,000 Plackers Micro Mint dental flossers to help support OHA’s programs and community partners.
