The Little Clinic, UC Health Partners, King Soopers ink new affiliation

DENVER — The University of Colorado Health Partners, The Little Clinic and King Soopers have announced an affiliation that will provide consumers with more options to improve their health through improved healthcare services, access to professionals in a variety of fields, such as nutrition and wellness programs.

“The unique collaboration among The Little Clinic, King Soopers and the University of Colorado Health Partners allows each of us to utilize our respective strengths to benefit the consumer,” explained Ken Patric, chief medical officer for The Little Clinic. “With health and wellness at the center of our focus, nurse practitioners, physicians, pharmacists, dieticians, educators and others from our organizations are unified toward a common goal of improving the health of communities on the Front Range.”

Lilly Marks, VP for health affairs for the University of Colorado and executive vice chancellor for the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, added, “At the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, we combine four core missions on a daily basis: education, research, clinical practice and community service. Through The Little Clinic inside King Soopers, CU Health Partners and University Physicians will be able to more directly connect with our community in neighborhoods where patients live throughout Colorado. The Little Clinic meets several essential demands in today’s healthcare marketplace, including convenience and access, and the University of Colorado Health Partners is proud to connect our vast network of quality health care professionals to meet these needs.”

One of the primary consumer benefits is the ability of The Little Clinic patients to access the nearby A.F. Williams Family Medicine Center in Stapleton for lab work, x-rays, physicians and specialty services such as sports medicine and physical therapy. Patients at A.F. Williams can also access care at The Little Clinic for common family illnesses, minor injuries, vaccinations and other wellness services in the evenings, on weekends and when their physician is unavailable.

The Little Clinic opened a new location inside the Stapleton King Soopers this past July, and A.F. Williams Family Medical Center is located less than one mile from the new clinic.

This affiliation follows two other programs at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus already supported by King Soopers, including an educational grocery lab at the new Colorado Center for Health and Wellness on campus and the 5th Gear program focused on reducing childhood obesity rates.

“King Soopers is dedicated to providing value to our shoppers when they need advice on making healthier lifestyle choices with food, access to medical care and necessary medications, and so much more. With The Little Clinic and the University of Colorado Health Partners enhancing our community offering, King Soopers is proud to say that your health needs are being met in your neighborhood,” added Russ Dispense, president of King Soopers.
