Kerr Drug launches online eyewear store

RALEIGH, N.C. — Kerr Drug is offering savings of up to 70% to customers who buy prescription eyewear through a new website, the chain said Wednesday.

Kerr Drug Optical, at Kerrdrugoptical.com, features more than 8,000 designer frames and options, such as scratch-resistant, Transitions and anti-reflective lenses, as well as ultraviolet treatments and prescription sunglasses. In addition, as part of the grand-opening offer, the company will give away the top 100 frame styles for free with a $49 purchase of lenses.

The site allows customers to upload face pictures and then virtually try on their glasses. Customers then enter their prescription information, and after each order is reviewed by a licensed optician who verifies the prescription, vision type and frame choice, the glasses are dispensed.
