Fera launches eye infection treatment
NEW YORK An ointment for treating eye infections has become available, the drug’s manufacturer announced Friday.
Fera Pharmaceuticals, a privately owned company based on Long Island in New York state, said Friday that bacitracin ophthalmic ointment was available through retail and hospital pharmacies and wholesalers. The company obtained rights to seven ophthalmic ointments in July 2009, including bacitracin.
“The company has been diligently working to transfer manufacturing of these products in order to meet market demand for these important sterile anti-infective ointments,” Fera president Frank DellaFera said in a statement.
