Dr. Reddy's receives regulatory approval for three generic drugs
BRIDGEWATER, N.J. Dr. Reddy’s Labs has received approval from the Food and Drug Administration and launched three new generic drugs over the last three months, the Indian generic drug maker said.
Dr. Reddy’s launched fluoxetine delayed-release capsules, tacrolimus capsules and amlodipine besylate and benazepril hydrochloride capsules.
Fluoxetine delayed-release capsules are a version of Eli Lilly’s Prozac Weekly and are the first generic version of the once-weekly antidepressant. Tacrolimus capsules are a generic version of Astellas Pharma’s Prograf, used to prevent rejection of transplanted organs, which had sales of $955 million during the 12-month period ended in March, according to IMS Health. Amlodipine besylate and benazepril hydrochloride capsules are a version of Novartis’ hypertension drug Lotrel.
