APhA accepts nominations for 2014 awards
WASHINGTON — The American Pharmacists Association is accepting nominations for 15 awards to be given at its annual program, the pharmacy professional group said Monday.
The APhA said the awards would be presented at its Annual Meeting and Exposition in Orlando, Fla., in March 2014, calling the most comprehensive recognition program in the profession of pharmacy.
The awards include the Remington Honor Medal, the group's highest honor, established in 1918; the Distinguished Federal Pharmacist Award; the Distinguished New Practitioner Award; the Generation Rx Award of Excellence; the Gloria Niemeyer Francke Leadership Mentor Award; the Honorary Membership; the Hugo H. Schaefer Award; and the Hubert H. Humphrey Award.
The APhA-Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management awards are the Daniel B. Smith Practice Excellence Award; the APhA-APPM Pharmacy Management Excellence Award; the APhA-APPM Distinguished Achievement Awards; and the APhA-APPM William H. Briner Distinguished Achievement Award in Nuclear Pharmacy Practice.
The APhA-Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science awards are the Takeru Higuchi Research Prize; the Tyler Prize for Stimulation of Research; and the Research Achivement Award in the Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Several fellows also will be named.
